Film Production 1
Prerequisite: Motion Picture Fundamentals. 42 classroom hours.
This course is an introduction to the use of motion picture film and filmmaking equipment. The unique properties of motion picture film as a physical, time-based art medium will be emphasized. Students will participate in a series of in-class exercises to develop proficiency in the use of super-8 and 16mm cameras, lighting and sound equipment and editing software. Each student will create a short movie of their own conception over the course of the semester. All equipment is provided, but students pay for their own film and lab expenses.
