Drones for Photo & Video
Prerequisite: None. 42 classroom hours
Drone (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle or UAV) technology is radically expanding the range and mobility of the camera for photography and video. In this course, the student will learn how to “get the shot” with their drone whether working individually or with a crew. A variety of equipment and shooting techniques will be explored while the student learns to fly their drone. In addition to the aesthetic side of the “drone shot," topics covered will include: specific components and systems of the drone, cameras and camera stabilization systems. Safety and legal issues will be stressed throughout the semester. No purchases necessary. Recommendations for optional purchases will be made in first few classes.
