Using a UAV (“Unmanned Aerial Vehicle” or “drone”), a filmmaker or photographer can get amazing shots, but safe operation is a must. In this course, you will learn how to assemble and fly a UAV and practice shooting effective moving and still images. The course will cover specific components of the UAV, cameras and camera stabilization systems, safe handling, legal requirements and protocol, and flying to get the best shot possible. It is recommended but not required that students be prepared to purchase a ready-to-fly UAV early in the semester; the instructor will suggest specific models on the first class session.
