Basic Digital Photography
Prerequisite: None. 42 classroom hours.
Want to begin exploring the world of photography, but not quite sure where to start? This class will help you find your unique photographic style, with practical exploration of camera controls, print quality, composition, and subject matter. You’ll learn how to talk about photography, with an examination of both contemporary and historical photographers. Over the semester, you’ll cover exposure, quality of light, Adobe Lightroom for digital file management, image manipulation, and digital printing. Students should have their own camera; a few digital SLRs will be available for use during the semester. Grading is based on assignments, written exams and a final portfolio.
