School of Filmmaking and Photography

This fall, Pittsburgh Filmmakers is offering Producing Motion Pictures, a 42-hour course starting October 9.

PRODUCING MOTION PICTURES

Do you have an idea for a short film?  This class is the bridge that takes that idea to a production-ready state.  Conducting the class like a workshop, with minimal lecture and extensive interaction, the instructors will focus on the script: revising, tightening, and enhancing drafts until it’s solid, economical, and strongly cinematic.  Non-fiction projects are supported as well, with guidance into research and creating a structure.  To get you closer to shooting, we will help work through budgets and funding, casting and assembling crew, and taking care of all the little things that contribute to a great, short film.

The class meets twice a week, Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:00p – 9:15p, from Tuesday, October 9 to Tuesday, November 27 (no class during Thanksgiving week).

Location:  Pittsburgh Filmmakers, 477 Melwood Avenue.

Regular Tuition is $615, or $575 if you register before October 4.  To register, call 412-681-5449 or click here to register.

NOTE:  We plan to relaunch a slate of filmmaking and photography classes in Spring 2019.
